Looking for a Change... Having been in the landscape design / build industry for 30 years I was looking for a change and a new challenge. Papa Couture Originals was started in 2007  as a manufacturer of fabric handbags to be marketed at fine art and contemporary craft shows. Many of my patrons throughout the years frequently inquired about whose patterns I was using. Upon discovering that all of my bags were of my own design from patterns that I had developed it was suggested that I start publishing them. My first pattern, The Bella Cross Body Bag was written and published in 2015 and the first store to carry the pattern was Thimbles Quilts in Lockport, IL. The Bella was quite a hit and more quilt stores began requesting the pattern. In 2017 I released my second pattern, The Erica Cross Body Bag. Again the response was very encouraging and in 2018 I decided that I would expand the pattern development side of the business as well as continue to produce my line of ready made bags.
